Captain Mike Wilson has been an avid fisherman for more than half a century. In pursuit of his passion he has fished the eastern and western United States, Canada, Alaska, the Bahamas and South America. He has vast experience in fly fishing as well as traditional spin and bait casting methods and can readily teach even a novice the basics of these two methods of fishing.
I enjoy sharing knowledge on a broad range of topics from boating safety and navigation, fishing techniques, lure selection, live bait fishing, fly casting, knot tying and many others. Each client is made to feel welcome aboard my boat and every effort will be made to provide an enjoyable experience.
Having engaged many guides over the years, I know what attributes are favorable and those that are not. For those that wish to fish, every effort will be made to locate fish for your party. For those who wish to shell on a remote beach, engage in waterside dining or take a sunset cruise (wine and a hors d’oeuvres to be provided), your comfort and pleasure are paramount. Any combination of these is completely at your discretion.
When chartering with Captain Mike, I provide fishing equipment, bait, a cooler and your fishing license. All you need to bring are things to drink and food you wish to consume. My boat, the Way2Early, is a Sea Hunt 18 foot center console Bay Boat that provides a dry and smooth ride. Like any Captain, safety of the passengers is a top priority. Boating in the summer is best done in the early morning so that by early-afternoon, when thunderstorms and lightning are likely to arise, all of us will be on shore and safely inside.
I hope you decide to enjoy the beautiful waters in and around Southwest Florida. We are so blessed to have such a paradise in our back yard and you too can explore it, finding all that there is to offer you.
